Marques came to Moorcroft on 21st February. I was looking for specialist help and support to unpick his complex history of repeated episodes of lameness over the last four years. I was desperate to find a solution rather than retire him at 8 years of age.

Marques was lame in front and behind on ridden assessment. I believe he had given me his very best but had reached the end of the road and so had I.

Moorcroft is an oasis in the horse world where time, expertise and dedication sets them apart from everyday veterinary clinics and other types of rehabilitation centres. I wish their approach to assessment and rehabilitation of both horse and rider was mirrored around the country. Their multidisciplinary team work is exemplary. Mary’s complete dedication and her experienced eye is a precious commodity. Lianne’s sensitive riding and care of all the horses is exceptional. As a team they assess, reassess, analyse and problem solve together to understand how to best help the horse.

Over the last 3 months Marques has had multiple interventions from Vasco. How can I begin to praise him? He takes a very serious and considered approach. He is focused, knowledgeable, calm and exceedingly good at his job. He and Mary explained every treatment and the management thereafter. No one made any promises but remained positive and, metaphorically speaking, have held my hand all the way. My goodness me - where in the country can you find that sort of help?

Marques is so much better. We still have strengthening work to do but he is sound. With Mary’s continued help and understanding of all his problems we are working towards a much better future. I cannot thank the Moorcroft team enough.
